HISTORY

1991 The Beginning

Waco Jonab Systeme GmbH is founded by Hans Erich Schmidt, Hermann Josef Fischer and Wolfgang Sebastiany, with its registered address in Andernach am Rhein, in cooperation with the company Waco Jonsereds AB from Halmstad, Sweden, manufacturer of high-performance planing plants.

1993

The Rhine floods and the office building is submerged by 1.5 metres of water.

1995

The office building is reconstructed with a storage hall in Neuwied-Engers.

1997

The first Waco planing machines are put into operation with a feed rate of 300m/min in Austria

1998

Cooperation starts with the Swedish tool manufacturer Kvarnstrands.

2000

Major order is received in northern Germany for three complete planing lines.

2001

10-year anniversary is celebrated with an open house.

2003

Cooperation starts with the manufacturer of film-packaging machines Maskinson AB.

2005

Cooperation starts with the Swedish manufacturer of mechanisation systems System Hall.

2006

The first left-sided planing machine by Waco is put into operation at the company Schwörer Haus.

2007

The first high-performance planing machine with a feed rate of 600m/min is put into operation in Switzerland.

2008

The first wide planing machine by Waco is put into operation in Austria.

2010

Cooperation starts with the French manufacturer of vacuum-lifting systems Joulin Aero.

The first H3500 is put into operation in Germany at the company Bolz.

2013

The founder of Waco Jonab Systeme, Hans Erich Schmidt, passes away after a brief, severe illness. Thomas Schmidt begins as the new Managing Director.

2015

The company is renamed to WJS GmbH and an additional hall is constructed for the renovation of used machines.

2018

Cooperation starts with the Swedish manufacturer of band saws and planing machines WPM Wood Processing Machinery.

2020

The website of WJS GmbH is redesigned based on CMS Contao.
